Treesong for Mayor

In response to Brad Cole's recent victory in the City of Carbondale's Mayoral election, and in response to the local and global problems facing our city and region, I've decided to explore the possibility of running for Mayor of Carbondale in 2011.

Since I'll be a long-shot underdog candidate, my campaign will at times take on an irreverent tone. However, the issues I'll be discussing are very serious, and I'll be offering some serious solutions to the problems facing Carbondale and Southern Illinois.

During the coming months, I will explore the issues facing Carbondale and what we as citizens can do to address them. As the next election approaches, I will make an official announcement regarding my candidacy (or lack thereof).

If I don't choose to run, this exploration of issues will be an important source of community dialog and community action. If I do choose to run, I'll be running to win, not simply to make a statement. It's time for change in Carbondale, and I am dedicated to doing anything and everything possible to change this community for the better.
